Navy Dolphins

We have all heard the term navy seal but when it's used it's not talking about the actual animal. Navy dolphins however are actual animals. Last year the Ukraine Army started a dolphin program. This program was put in place to train dolphins to attack and kill the enemy force. Now this isn't every realistic because dolphins don't always listen to instructions and sometimes have a mind of their own. I'm sure if the United States put time and effort we could have animals that are trained for battle in time of crises. The US already has dolphins trained to sweep for minds but they were recently retired. If we can train certain animals to do specific things then we could eventually train them to fight or maybe do something simple like fix the ship in time of attack. The side effects however of teaching animals to fight is that it wont always be accurate. Animals again have a mind of their own. So weather it's a dolphin or a monkey it will never be a human.

What I think about this article that it is very neat. The thought of training animals to kill and do things for the navy is really cool. I we could also train other animals to do other things think how much help that would be. Think about how the us could evolve with this, I know that the article was silly and a threat but still you can train animals to do things you can also train them to fight. Not only could they fight they could fix something on a ship or help people get out of fire in the battle field. There are so many possibilities.

Buy a body

We all know someone who has needed a transplant or has had cancer. Have you ever wondered how that works? As a kid I use to think that you just went to the store and bought a new heart or lungs. I quickly learned that was not the case. Your body is a very complex machine. The organs are build out of cells, molecules, and much more. Your body is made up of thousands of molecules that all work together. We all know with your body there always comes a point where you have an illness. Sometimes people are born with illnesses such as a hole in the heart or some other problem. They may need a transplant right then or in the future. You are put on a big long waiting list for a new organ or part. Getting the transplant is not always easy. Sometimes your body can reject the organ and the organ may not function right anyways since its not your own. Now scientist have created a way to make organs! That's right they can make organs. So far the only people that have received organs are not currently in the United States. The transplants were successful though. But not only can they make organs they can make other body parts too. They had a man who had a tumor in his trachea and was on the verge of death. He received a new trachea and is still living today. This whole thing started when they made ears for men who had come back from war from a bad accident. If they needed an ear they could get an ear. The scientist thought that if they could made simple things like this than there must be a way they can make organs. They thought that everything in the body must have a simple skeletal structure. They were right, each organ has its own structure. As soon and they create the structure they then inject it with your own blood cells. This is why this new science will be easy to use in bodies because it your own cells and it will be hard for the body to reject the new organ.

I thought this article was very fascinating. They fact that scientist are now building organs and are soon being able to transfer them into human bodies is astounding to me, the body is mad up complex molecules and cells and scientist can make that and inject your own DNA into it is amazing. My opinion on this is proud because now that means people can get transplants faster and it will be easier for their bodies to accept them so they can live longer. The significance of this is this is going to eventually keep people alive. Let's say someone has cancer in there liver and it's bad to the point they may die or they need a fast liver transplant. Liver transplants take a long time because you have to be on a waiting list and that person may not get the liver in the time they need it. Whit this new science they could have a new liver within weeks and it would have there own cells in the liver making this cancer patient cancer free. I think that scientist are on the verge and are currently on the path to a medical miracle for the whole world.

New science of bruning solids with liquids

Have you ever though about one day you may have a big rock on your ring finger? I have. It may just be a girl thing though considering diamonds are a girls best friend. Diamonds are considered the hardest substance. Its not easy breakable either. Diamonds have chemical bonds holding them together. But how do you get a chunk of diamond to be shiny and square to be put in a ring? Just heating the diamond wont do the trick. There are certain machines that are used to cut diamonds into shapes. The article I took a look at was about how to burn a diamond. We all know its possible to cut a diamond but how can you set fire to a diamond? If you use a heating torch it makes the diamond glow. It will eventually catch fire. The fire cannot sustain itself in regular air so to keep fire going you have to gently blow oxygen gas on it. They found that if you burn a diamond and put some liquid oxygen on it that it will burn much longer. Still it doesn't burn very long but longer than blowing the oxygen gas on it. So the man thought what if I put it in a bowl of the liquid oxygen? When he put it in the bowl of liquid oxygen it burned for a longer length then the two before. It was pretty cool to see that something like a diamond was burning in something so cold like liquid nitrogen.

My thoughts on the article were amazed. I couldn't believe that diamonds could actually burn, and then using liquid oxygen to make it burn longer. I mean in the future how magnificent would it be if we could use this to break something down? Like lets say if we had a really hard chemical bond or an element and if was just as hard as a diamond and we needed to shape it or break it apart. If someone came along and said that they could use this method to get the job done. Think how this could effect the future. Think how this could effect science and just our every day life. Everything around could be heated up and to keep it burning put into liquid oxygen so we could bend or break the material. The article did not mention anything that it could be used for in the future that was just my own opinion. The article was good to read because it explained things about diamond that I didn't know before reading it and then the video that went along with it actually showed the man doing the experiment. Liquid nitrogen

Liquid nitrogen is very interesting. It boils at -321°F which means it is very cold. But what happens when you conceal liquid nitrogen? When liquid nitrogen is concealed in a container like a water bottle it turns to a gas. When the gas has no where to go the bottle starts to expand. Eventually somewhere on the bottle something will give out and the bottle makes an explosion. Some have tested this theory out and thrown the "nitrogen bomb" in a pool of water to see the explosion. A scientist named Dr. Roy Lowry of Plymouth University decided he was going to do this experiment for his class but the concealed nitrogen in a trash can and then put 1,500 ping pong balls on top of it. There is a link to the video below that shows you the effects of this experiment. As I said earlier eventually after a while there is an explosion. The explosion sends the ping pong balls up into the air scattering them around the room. I personally think that liquid nitrogen is very fascinating. When doing experiments with it you never really will know the outcome. You just have to wait and see what it does.
The article where I found this just explains about why this happened and how they preformed the experiment. Some things about the article and the experiment all together that are hard to understand is why the liquid nitrogen when concealed forms into a gas and expands the container that it is in. The article just states who the doctor was that preformed the experiment and how cool it was to see the thing explode. Other than the fact of there was little facts about liquid nitrogen I thought that the article was very well written.
